Donors continued giving generously in 2023, as charitable contributions from individuals, bequests, foundations, and corporations increased year-over-year. Supported by better-than-expected performance in the stock market and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), total giving rose above pre-pandemic levels to $577.2 billion, the largest total giving amount to date in current dollars. Total giving suggests positive trends in the nonprofit sector.
